Instructions

The object of the game is to place 4 of your pieces in a row, horizonally, vertically or diagonally. When it is your turn, point to the column in which you wish to place your piece and click the left mouse button. The disk will drop into the column, going to the bottom or until it comes to rest on top of the stack of disks already in that column. When 6 pieces have been placed in a column it is full and no more pieces may be played in it.

Before play commences, you will have the opportunity to enter your name. This personalizes the first player option and the score board. After entering your name click the Play button. Several controls and a score board will be displayed.

The controls from left to right are:

First player:
Before a game starts, you may use this control to select who makes the first move.
Look ahead depth:
This controls how many moves ahead the computer looks when determining its next move. This option may be adjusted at any time during a game.
Start/Stop:
Click this button to start or stop a game.
Hint:
When the computer sees a forced win for you, the Hint button is activated. Clicking the Hint button gets you a suggested move. You may take the suggestion by clicking anywhere on the game board. You may ignore the suggestion by placing the cursor on the active game piece and dragging it to an alternate location, then dropping it by a left mouse click.

The score board keeps track of how many games each player has won and what color they were playing. The score may be reset by using the Reset button beneath the score board.
